(English) Olive Oil: Protecting against breast cancer

Spanish scientists from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona have found that olive oil may “switch off” proteins that cancer cells need in order to survive. Their studies showed that olive oil can actually attack breast tumours and also protect against potentially-cancerous damage to DNA.
In order to reap such benefits, extra virgin olive oil needs to be consumed on a daily basis. At lunch, dinner or even a drizzle on toast for breakfast, it’s not hard to find a way to make extra virgin part of your diet.
