Los Cultivados
(English) Inmaculada: Cultivating maturity
“A mature woman, that is, with wrinkles, a little on the wane, but in good cheer, I feel fine, my body is in keeping with my mind, youthful but with a past, time is a factor I observe in others, from the outside, as if it doesn’t affect me, not for now. I’m an optimist but saddened that I can’t remain one because of the current situation. I often feel happy and wonder, now why am I happy today? I have no one reason to feel like this. When I leave home in the morning I sing to myself, “Today could be a great day, look at it that way…! And when I get to the bus stop I believe I’m lucky because the bus doesn’t take long to arrive and when I get to the office thirty minutes later, I think first goal fulfilled. I spend the day in the office, it’s amazing, I like what I do. There are other things I would also like to do, there are many things I would gladly do. But this is my lot for now. Now everything in my life is a little different, even my hair is different now! We get along well, I don’t fight with my hair any more. But today a colleague tells me, “at your age, you can leave your hair just as you want” and I don’t even flinch, let alone give them a piece of my mind, because I have just remembered that time also passes across my façade.”
